Delegation led by China Association for Science and Technology President Wan Gang visits UM

A delegation from the China Association for Science and Technology, led by its president Wan Gang, recently visited the University of Macau (UM) and was warmly received by UM Rector Yonghua Song and Vice Rector Ge Wei. At the University Gallery, Song gave the guests an introduction to UM’s history, educational characteristics, research layout, and results in science popularisation, and said that the university would nurture more professionals who love Macao and China to contribute to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The delegation also visited UM’s State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City. Wan stated that UM has reached international standards in many academic disciplines in terms of research and innovation, and he believes that the university will achieve even more breakthroughs in the future.

中國科學技術協會主席萬鋼率團訪問澳門大學，了解該校最新的發展及辦學成果。萬鋼表示，澳大眾多學科領域達到國際領先水準，相信澳大未來將取得更多突破。

代表團獲澳大校長宋永華、副校長葛偉熱情接待。在大學展館，宋永華介紹了澳大的發展歷程、辦學特色、科研佈局和科普成果，並表示澳大近年的快速發展是“一國兩制”的成功實踐，在中央、特區政府及社會各界的特別關懷下，澳大作為特區大學，秉持“立足澳門、共建灣區、融入國家、走向世界”的理念，將培養更多愛國愛澳人才，助力粵港澳大灣區建設。

隨後，代表團參觀了澳大智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室。萬鋼表示，澳大近年在科研創新方面取得的成績令人印象深刻，眾多學科領域達到國際領先水準，相信澳大依託優秀的科研人員和一流的科研平台，未來將取得更多突破；中國科協將一如既往地支持澳大發展，推動雙方在各個領域的合作，發揮彼此優勢，共同為澳門和國家的科教事業作出貢獻。

代表團成員還包括中國科協書記處書記王進展，辦公廳機要秘書孫鴻航，港澳台辦公室港澳台處處長王保輝；同行的還有澳門科學技術協進會執行秘書長吳慧群。澳大科技學院院長、協同創新研究院代院長須成忠，校長辦公室主任汪淇，全球事務總監王瑞兵，智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室助理主任馬少丹亦參與了接待。
