A delegation led by Ao Ieong U, secretary for social affairs and culture of the Macao SAR and deputy director of the administrative committee of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, visited Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute on 5 November and was warmly received by University of Macau (UM) Rector Yonghua Song and Vice Rector Xu Jian.

During the visit, Rector Song shared the latest developments of the institute, the current progress of the construction of the research facilities, and the university’s efforts to promote industry-academia collaboration.

Secretary Ao Ieong highly recognised the achievements of the university and the institute in promoting industry-academia collaboration and technology transfer, adding that she was pleased to see that with the support of the SAR government, the university has been able to secure the support of enterprises such as Huafa Group for a number of promising R&D projects with industrialisation potential.
