The University of Macau (UM) has signed a letter of intent on cooperation with the BRI International Green Development Coalition (BRIGC). The two parties will leverage UM’s international platform, as well as Macao’s role as a bridge between the Chinese mainland and international markets, to establish cooperation in various areas.
Tam Vai Man, secretary for transport and public works of the Macao SAR government, and Zhao Yingmin, president of BRIGC, witnessed the signing ceremony. Yonghua Song, rector of UM, and Chen Gang, secretary-general of BRIGC, signed the letter of intent on cooperation on behalf of their respective parties. Song said that UM will leverage its strengths in interdisciplinary research and the advantages of its two campuses to support the establishment of a regional green development promotion centre, thereby contributing to the Green Belt and Road Initiative and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Zhao expressed hope that both parties will deepen their cooperation through the centre in areas such as international exchange, capacity building, green finance, and green trade, thereby helping Macao integrate into the global green governance system.
After the signing ceremony, the BRIGC delegation visited UM and toured the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City. They met with the laboratory’s research team to discuss issues such as green development, technology, and innovation.
澳門大學與“一帶一路”綠色發展國際聯盟（綠色聯盟）簽署合作意向書，雙方將依托澳門作為連接內地與國際市場的重要橋樑作用及澳大的國際化平台優勢，圍繞國際交流與夥伴網絡建設、能力建設提升與示範推廣、綠色金融與投融資合作對接、綠色貿易與認證規則銜接等領域開展務實合作，聯合共建區域綠色發展促進中心。
在澳門特區政府運輸工務司司長譚偉文和綠色聯盟理事長趙英民的見證下，澳大校長宋永華與綠色聯盟秘書長陳剛分別代表雙方簽署合作意向書。生態環境部固體廢物與化學品司司長郭伊均、國際合作司（港澳辦）副司長陳海君，澳大研究服務及知識轉移辦公室主任周建濤、科技學院土木及環境工程系系主任周萬歡、海洋科學及技術系系主任徐杰及助理教授賴榮盛等出席儀式。
宋永華表示，澳大將充分發揮雙校區及跨學科科研優勢，積極支持區域綠色發展促進中心建設，為綠色“一帶一路”和粵港澳大灣區發展貢獻力量。趙英民期望雙方依托區域綠色發展促進中心，在國際交流、能力建設、綠色金融、綠色貿易等領域深化合作，助力澳門融入全球綠色治理體系。
簽署儀式後，代表團繼續澳大訪問交流，考察了智慧城市物聯網全國重點實驗室，並與該實驗室科研團隊就綠色發展、科技創新等議題舉行座談。
參訪嘉賓還包括生態環境部辦公廳正處級秘書孫飛翔、國際合作司（港澳辦）二級調研員李宏濤，綠色聯盟副秘書長兼首席發展總監張建宇、政策研究部高級項目主管王強，澳門特區政府環境保護局局長葉擴林、環境規劃處處長吳時要等。澳大科技學院土木及環境工程系副系主任黎永杰，智慧城市物聯網全國重點實驗室助理教授施華斌、徐高鵬、蔡忠亞等亦參與接待。
